Federation of Muslim Women's Associations in Nigeria
Faith, knowledge
and character —
built together.
Since 1985, FOMWAN has built community-rooted schools across Nigeria where Qur'anic learning and national curriculum grow side by side — led by women, open to every child.
Our story
Schools built by mothers, for the whole community
FOMWAN began as a gathering of Muslim women determined to widen access to education. What started as literacy circles has grown into a network of nursery, primary, secondary and Islamiyya classrooms run with the same conviction: no child should be out of school for want of means.
Every FOMWAN school pairs the national curriculum with Qur'an and Islamic studies, keeps fees within reach of working families, and is staffed by teachers who know the children by name.
- National curriculum, taught alongside Qur'an and Islamic studies
- Subsidised fees, built for underserved communities
- Governed and led largely by women educators
Education is a moral imperative — a debt every generation owes the next.
